Season 2012: Day thirty five
It’s a day thirty four of the season or the fourth day of summer!
The bad news is that throughout the whole may month, we had no luck with the wind. It doesn’t mean that there was no wind at all. The wind was generally perfect for beginners, intermediates or big rig lovers. But lets face it…just a couple of sessions with 5.3 is not enough to keep your blood running.
Yet there is one day to remember. A cloudy day was not promising anything at all, when all of sudden offshore wind clicked in. Stable 25 knots just 200 meters away from the shore, and Jimmy providing delivery service there and back with his motorboat. Most of the locals missed it, because they were putting all the hopes on Faliraki and Prasonissi spots. But the spots didn’t work well that day, so the maximum they got were 16 knots of gusted wind.
Though there is hope. While I’m writing this, Wind Guru shoes 34 knots for the Thursday afternoon. If it’ll be good, we’ll make some pics to prove it. But for sure beach will be busy in the midday.
But again some people will not make it there, because it’s the end of their holidays and they are already leaving the place. We wish them all the best and we hope to surf side by side once again.
The main thing is, that the season officially starter from the 1st of June. It’s like somebody opened the water valve. All of a sudden, the schedule is fully packed, loads of gear on the shore and jets are racing each other.
Our team is almost complete. Some new faces are just passing their trial periods, a few guys are still on their way, but the rest of the crew you may know from the years before.
And the last thing for today: there are still some straight of the box boards and sails, which weren’t in the water even one single time. If there is somebody willing to give them a test drive, you are mostly welcome!
See you on the beach (this Thursday maybe?:)
